Claire joined the Tenor section of BCS in 2011, just after moving to the Wirral from Liverpool. She has been singing and dancing all of her life, first appearing on stage at the age of 4 with a local dance school and then going on to teach dance as well. Claire has been a member of a number of choirs, singing everything from pop songs through to musicals, light opera and full choral pieces. Her favourite piece to sing is Faure's Reqiuem, especially at St Saviours on Remembrance Sunday.
Claire says, "I must confess that you are more likely to find me listening to Rock music or 80's alternative than anything else in my Spotify. I sing tenor with BCS but also Alto with other choirs and love singing harmony, even when I sing along with the radio. My interests are singing (obvs), dancing, reading, listening to live music and travelling, there is still so much of the world to see. My ambitions for my tenure as BCS Chair is firstly to get us all back singing together again, although this is somewhat out of my hands, then to ensure that singing with BCS is an enjoyable and relaxing thing to do for all. I also want to try and encourage more younger people to consider joining, so that we can make sure that the society has a long and bright future."
Please join in wishing Claire all the best as she takes on this role at a very difficult time.
